    Your Guide to visiting the College of Business

    Visiting college campuses are a key part in finding which college is the right fit for you. Visiting campus allows students to get a feel for what the school is like and how they fit in. Scheduling a visit at the University of Wyoming College of Business is simple, and with this step by step guide, it can be even easier.

     

    Scheduling a Visit

    To schedule a College of Business visit www.uwyo.edu/admissions/visit and select when you would like to come to campus. After you’ve finalized a date we will contact you with more information. A one-on-one visit allows you to get all of your questions answered through meeting with our recruiter, touring our facilities, and meeting with a professor from the department you are interested in.

    If you prefer to explore the College of Business in a group setting rather than one-on-one there are several options available to you. Showcase Saturday will be on January 28. This free event provides an opportunity for prospective students to have a deeper look into specific colleges and academic programs at the University of Wyoming. Come explore the College of Business and learn about all that we have to offer with the added advantage of being able to meet other prospective students.

    Discovery Days will be hosted on February 18 & April 1, 2017. These are free Saturday events designed to introduce prospective students to the UW experience in a group setting. Attendees have access to a resource fair, admissions presentation, academic programs, and more.

    Where to Stay

    Laramie has several great hotels that offer discounts for UW visitors. The Laramie Hilton Garden Inn is the closest to campus, right across the street from the Rochelle Gateway Center. They offer a 10% discount to family and friends of UW. The Holiday Inn is just a short distance from Campus as well and has a Perkins Family Restaurant attached. They offer a $99 a night rate for visiting families October 1 - April 30 and a $109 a night rate from May 1 - September 30.

    What to Bring

    Questions! This is your chance to find out everything you want to know about the University of Wyoming College of Business. We encourage you to ask as many questions as possible to help make your decision that much easier.

    Make sure to dress for the weather. Laramie can have its sunny and hot days but there are also freezing and windy ways. Bring clothes that will make you the most comfortable and wear shoes you will be comfortable walking in. Be sure to check the weather ahead of time!

     

    Where to Eat

    One of the great things about Laramie is the number of great restaurants. There are a variety of locations for every craving. If you’re looking for a burger the Crow Bar & Grill or Born in a Barn are a must. Vegetarian? Sweet Melissa’s has you covered with a variety of awesome dishes. A local favorite is The Library Bar and Grill. We’ve also got two great Thai Restaurants, sushi, pizza, and Mexican. Just head to Downtown Laramie and you’re sure to find something you love.

    However, if you don’t have time to head downtown for dinner you’ll still be able to have a great meal. When scheduling a campus visit with us, lunch will be provided at our dining hall, Washakie Dining Center!

     

    What Else to Do

    Laramie has a variety of attractions for all types of interests. For the outdoor enthusiast, the Snowy Range Mountains or Vedauwoo are just a short 30-minute drive in either direction. For the museum buff, the University of Wyoming Geological Museum is ranked 12th on the list of the “50 Most Amazing College Museums” released by CollegeRank.net. Campus also hosts an Art Museum and The American Heritage Center.
