high school seniors, listen up!
For all of you high school seniors who are planning to attend the University of Wyoming beginning fall 2018, we have Admitted Student Day events coming up. Admitted Student Day takes place three times a year. This year’s spring dates are Feb. 23, March 23 and April 20. Admitted Student Day is a great opportunity for incoming UW students to get a further in-depth look at everything the university has to offer.
“Students and parents will have a chance to connect with faculty, staff, financial aid representatives, current and prospective students. Hopefully this will solidify the student’s decision to attend UW in the fall,” says Katelin Watson, assistant director of admissions here at UW. It’s highly recommended that future students attend Admitted Student Day for a variety of reasons. One, the event is specifically tailored to showcase certain parts of the university that you might not have seen during previous campus tours, visits and through the UW website.
Admitted Student Day will give you a chance to ask any questions or concerns you might have about UW, so you feel confident and prepared once the semester starts. It is also a great opportunity for parents to ask any questions regarding the university, such as financial aid and other admissions questions.
“Each student and family will have a chance to learn more about campus involvement, sit on a mock class taught by a UW faculty member and attend a college open house, where students will discuss their class schedules with advisors,” says Watson.
Feel welcome at UW
The purpose of Admitted Student Day is to make all incoming freshmen feel welcome and comfortable before you start college at UW. The overall goal of Admitted Student Day is to build excitement about attending the University of Wyoming. Hopefully you will take pride in becoming a cowboy or cowgirl, while enjoying college life.
