Waiting in line for food isn’t fun, especially when you’re in a rush to eat before your next class. But did you know there’s a way you can order your favorite food ahead of time and have it waiting for you when you arrive? It’s true! Savvy University of Wyoming students can avoid waiting in line by using the Tapingo app.
What is Tapingo?
Tapingo is a free service that allows users to browse menus and order food and drinks in advance on their smartphones or computers. Users can pay for their items through Tapingo using credit or debit cards. UW students can also pay using their WyoOne cards.
One of the best things about Tapingo is that there is no additional fee for ordering through the app. You can take the time to browse the menu and customize your selections. Once your order is paid for, the food location receives a receipt automatically that includes your order and your name. You can track the progress of your order via the Tapingo app, and you’ll receive a notification when your order is ready. You can then head to the pick-up area, where your food will be waiting for you!
Where can I use it?
There are currently six locations on campus that offer the Tapingo service. In the Union, users can order from Panda Express, S’Pokes Pizza, Pita Pit and Rolling Mill Café. The Rendezvous Café, located in Ross Hall, is also using Tapingo, as is Elements in the Classroom Building.
What are UW students saying? Junior Kiana Aguirres recently used Tapingo to order lunch from Rendezvous and had this to say: “When I got there, it was ready and waiting for me. It was a lot easier than ordering the food on location because you have time to look at all your options so you can choose exactly what you want.”
