    How to Stay Connected to the College of Business After You Graduate

    Congratulations, you have earned a business degree from the University of Wyoming and off to the next steps of your life or possibly just looking back to the fond moments back at UW and wish to reconnect and give back in some way shape or form. As an alumni there is many ways for you to give back to your University and the College of Business.

    Here are just a few ways you can stay connected.

    Join the University of Wyoming Alumni Association (UWAA).

    By joining the UWAA you have many advantages you can look forward too and help you reconnect to the University. Here are just some of the advantages of joining the UWAA.

     

    -Stay up to date with the College and the University

    You’ll be able to stay up to date with everything going around the University. From students to faculty, and other alumni you’ll get to be updated with whatever is going on no matter where you are.

     

    -The networking possibilities

    There are many connections that can be made in an Alumni Association. The UWAA has a wide array of networks throughout the country spanning from California to New England. Being an alumni in the UWAA gives you connections to those who went to the University of Wyoming and find themselves in or out of the state. No matter where you go you have a network of people to help get you established or at least a foot in the door wherever you find yourself after your time at the University of Wyoming.

     

    -Career resources

    The UWAA has a wide arrange of resources available to all members that help alumni to help connect and grow their career opportunities. Resources like UW2Career, Cowboy2Cowboy, Candid Career and Cowboy Parent Resources these services help connect alumni to job opportunities, enhancing skills, informational videos, connecting you with alumni in your career field or region.

     

    -Discounts and other benefits

    There are a litany of discounts that are offered when you become a member of UWAA. From discounts on athletic events, fine art performances, the university store, half acre and local business in town. They also have many discounts from hotels, insurance, theme parks, travel and many other benefits.

     

    Attend university events

    Homecoming is designed as events meant to welcome alumni back to the University to expand their social network, get connected back into the college atmosphere and to see what’s been going on. These events are here to benefit and welcome back those who have graduated. So when looking at when to come back to Laramie Homecoming is the perfect week to come back and get up to speed.  

     

    Keep up to date with the college magazine and news

    The College of Business has a biannual publication called FOCUS which aims at looking at key industry and important business concepts. Using perspectives from students, staff, faculty, alumni and key business leaders FOCUS gives an in depth look at the effect of the college. There is also news published often on the College of Business site that helps highlight and inform people on the newest things happening in the College of Business.

     

    Show your support

    The biggest way to reconnect and give back to the college is by showing your support. Regardless if that is just showing your school pride, inspiring someone to look at being a future cowboy, speaking to students or by helping support students, faculty or any imitative by the College and the University. Showing support for UW can come in all ways, shapes and forms.

     

    There are many ways to get reconnected to the College and University but the important thing is to reconnect and make an impact.
